This extremely unique African freshwater fish features an elongated snout resembling an elephant's trunk. The beautiful white bands that run through its black to dark grey body give it a mysterious aura. The elongated snout functions as a sensory organ, making it a highly ornamental species that can be enjoyed for its unique movements and behavior.
It is somewhat delicate, so stable water quality and a quiet environment are key to keeping it. It prefers soft water that is slightly acidic, so it is recommended to avoid strong currents and excessive mixing with other fish. It tends to be nocturnal, so providing a hiding place will help it to calm down.
