Somekake-sakuran-gecko (het albino aneri male)
is known for its hardiness and ease of care. It features a rugged texture and distinct banded pattern, and boasts the calm movements typical of terrestrial geckos.
While the het albino aneri appears normal, it is a genetic carrier with the potential to eventually develop albino + aneri (reduced black pigment). If breeding is an option, pairing can lead to brightly colored albino or contrasting aneri.
For breeding, keep them in a well-ventilated cage with slightly dry bedding and create a temperature gradient by creating hot spots. Install multiple shelters, maintaining humidity in certain areas to prevent incomplete shedding. Feed them primarily with live food such as crickets and dubia roaches, and be sure to supplement with calcium.
Although this is a hardy species, breeding management and preparation for changes in their physical condition are important. For peace of mind, consider purchasing Anicom Insurance to cover any medical visits you may need.
