). The Tiger Talaira is a large, carnivorous characin native to South America. It is a juvenile, approximately 10cm, and currently displays subdued protective coloration. However, as it grows, its pattern will become more contrasting and its body will thicken.
Its leisurely swimming from the bottom to the middle layers is very atmospheric and complements well with aquarium layouts.
Despite its carnivorous tendencies, it has a relatively calm disposition
With careful consideration of size differences, it can be kept alone or as a supporting character in a tank with larger fish.
It is relatively easy to feed it with frozen bloodworms, small fish, and sinking artificial diet.

■ Personality: Carnivorous, somewhat aggressive but also timid, making it suitable for solitary keeping.
