American frog
Store code: Higashi-Totsuka store
This American frog
(photo is for illustrative purposes only, as there are multiple individuals)
has an impressive, rounded body and stocky silhouette, and its motionless posture on the ground is uniquely charming. Its lack of flashy movements means it spends much of its time quietly in the shade or on the floor, making it ideal for those who enjoy calm observation. The color of its body changes depending on the environment and conditions, allowing for a sense of its distinct expressions even in captivity.
The basic principle for keeping this frog is to provide a well-ventilated cage with a thick layer of flooring deep enough for the frog to crawl into. Maintaining a moderate humidity level to avoid over-drying and avoiding over-humidification is important. Feeding the frog primarily with live food, and feeding it at a reasonable frequency while monitoring its condition, will help maintain a stable condition.
