They are characterized by their rounded bodies and distinctive stocky silhouettes, and their imposing presence as they stand motionless on the ground is a powerful presence. Individual differences can be seen within their subdued body color, and their expressions change depending on the environment and conditions, making them a fascinating sight. They are discreet and usually hide in the shadows, making them ideal for quiet observation.

The basic rule for keeping them is to provide a well-ventilated cage with deep flooring so they can crawl under. Maintaining a moderate humidity level to avoid over-drying and preventing overheating is important. Feed them primarily with live food, adjusting the amount and frequency based on the individual's condition. A stable environment helps them maintain a calm state, making them suitable for long-term care.
