This species has a three-dimensional shell and a subdued overall color scheme. Its movements in the water are generally relaxed, often seen walking along the bottom. While it does not exhibit flashy behavior, once it becomes accustomed to its environment, its behavioral patterns become stable, making it a fun and enjoyable species to observe on a daily basis.

For breeding, a tank with a large bottom area and a shallow depth is recommended. Providing a secure landing area and a shelter where it can hide will help it settle. Maintaining a clean environment
