This species of loach is endemic to Japan, living in cool, clear mountain streams.
Its body is longer and slender than the common Japanese loach, and as its name suggests, it prefers "flowing waters." Its
graceful movements as it swims between rocks and gravel make it a highly ornamental species. ✨
