The country has recently made it compulsory for pets to be microchipped.

In conjunction with this, the Ministry of the Environment will launch a new "public" microchip registration service.

Until now, Kanedai has been using a private microchip registration service, but with the launch of this national service, a system will be introduced to switch over to this new microchip service for those who have already adopted dogs and cats.

Switching to the new government service is optional, but as this will become the standard system going forward, we recommend taking this opportunity to switch.
